Purpose

Accessibility Requirements ensure that Staff Residences provide safe, inclusive and equitable living environments that can be accessed and used comfortably by people of all abilities. Accessibility should be integrated into the design of residences, external works and supporting facilities to promote independence, dignity and ease of use.

• Ramps and handrails where level changes occur.

• Wider doorways and circulation spaces where required.

• Accessible parking space (where applicable).

• Accessible bathroom facilities.

• Accessible kitchen features where required.

• Accessible switches, controls and power outlets.

• Slip-resistant flooring in wet and external areas.

• Adequate lighting along circulation routes.
